Keith Olberman, the worst ******** on TV, had this guy listed on his best people in the world segment. What a tool.

Hoffman was seriously torn about his responsibility with LSD. He seriously believed that there were great possibilities for this drug to treat mental illness. He gave up on the idea, and later regretted his role in developing the drug when it became a recreational drug. It was never his intention to unleash it on the general public to be used for giggles. It was something that weighed heavily on his conscience. He discusses his role, his hopes, and his regrets in "LSD: My Problem Child". It's a good read, and good insight into the mind of the infamous chemist.
