I like to give them a kick so they roll down to the truck. I will only drag downhill. Otherwise, I'll quarter and haul out on a packframe. I can't recall having to completely bone out a critter, but I don't do that much hunting.

I'll bone 'em all out unless I'm REAL close to the truck (which almost never happens to me).

Get it all done at once, and then all I have to do when I get home is trim and clean, vacuum pack, and toss it in the freezer. Bonus is that it's a lot easier to haul it out that way too.

Depends on where I am at, if close to the quad or truck, a quick drag is in order and back to camp for cold ones and buthering.

If I am on foot, then cut and stuff.

We are required to check in our hogs whole (gutted) for sexing and weighing and validating. Used to take blood to watch for disease in the population. So, we have no choice but to process out of the field. We have a game cart if we can't drive right to it. And, there are a lot of times we pass on a hog 'cause it's too much work to haul out of the nasty spot he's in!

I'm new to all this but so far its been an equal combo of drags (whole) and packing (whole or halved) depending on the distance and slope of course!

I will probably bone out my next hogs, my back will thank me!

Hard to win a jackpot with 50 lbs of meat. I like to bring in as much hog as possible to help pay for the trip. C'mon.

I usually have two packframes in the truck. But, I've only hunted Tejon and Choppers. There's usually a road near by. This was a fun one. (I love the poison oak.) It was only 300 yds from the truck, but straight frickin' up and out of a leg crampin' hole. Jackpot!
