Sunday afternoon I went and sat in the stand down by the tank. I didn't see anything until right before it got dark, there were 4 pigs that came over the tank dam for a drink. I picked out the biggest one and shot it, instead of running back over the dam with his buddies he jumped right into the tank and took off swimming. At first I thought it was pretty comical until he kept swimming out towards the middle, then he decided he better try to make it back to the bank, but ran out of steam before he made it. I walked over there and he was about 5 feet from the bank, so to the cabin I go to get a rope and an oar for the boat. Before I got in the boat, I went to see if I could get the rope around him and drag him in, I got lucky and did so I didn't have to go out in the boat.

Keepin' the freezer full down there, huh Gus? Nice job!

You getting into any deer this season, or are the pigs taking all your ammo?

No deer yet, have seen a couple of nice 8s, but let them walk. I have shot more hogs this year while deer hunting than ever before. I think that with all the hogs on my place is one reason I have not seen any more deer than I have been seeing, but I sure am not going to let a hog walk by me without getting some lead poison sent his way.

Cool deal... if your circle of family and friends is like mine, most of them like pork better than venison anyway.

Good luck closing the deal on a big ol' buck, though. Looking forward some pix of that before the season is over.

So, I am curious - do you need a fishing license or is the pig-tag enough ?

Never seen a pig swim but that must have been funny as hell to see. Would have been an even funnier pictureif you had used a fishing pole to get it to the shore!
