Great shots Dave!

Question for ya. It appears to me that you are using your 200-400 lense and a large aperature to get the nice bokeh. Are you also manually blurring some of the elements in the images?

Is the first shot an HDR?

Thanks guys.
KitFox,
I am using the 200-400 and most of my deer pics are taken either right at dawn or right at dusk so I always have it set to the largest f stop. Usually have my ISO cranked right up too.

The sunrise pic is something I just played around with while editing - I just got this program called topaz adjust. The Denoise program they have is awesome. Some peolple don't like it but I like some of the stuff you can do with it.

I sure hope you enter an image in the Sept. contest.

Topaz Adjust looks very interesting. I started playing with HDRSoft's Photomatix to combine a few exposures. Sometimes the results stink, and sometimes they are pretty cool.

Here is a single exposure:

Followed by a three shot combination of -2EV, 0EV, and +2 EV.

The last picture is the same three exposures tweaked in "Grunge" mode.

Yeah - it's neat seeing some of the results you can get with HDR. That Topaz Adjust is real easy to use and can get almost the same effect ,(not quite though).

Here's a whole thread over at Nikon Cafe that has some awesome Topaz Adjust shots.
