So Lux-trail and his buddys are here for a three dayer (fresh back from Iraq), squirrels till you run out of ammo and then pigs on Sunday /Monday. But I am so confused?? I introduced them to my daughter (she will be guiding them on the ranch for the squirrel/varmint shooting, and the next thing I know- they started showing some body art, talkin the "talk", and then they were headed to town for beer at some cool bar? Is this a form of hunting? Pre-guide bonding? Yeah, that must be it. Multiple squirrel/varmint massacre meeting at the Paso Robles pub. We'll see if it works. I do have a friend of Speck's here too . He's pretty set though and didn't need the pub pre-hunt, pre -guide bonding, got his in the field the old fashioned way. Wish us the best guys- Turkey /pig at first light...

Must be just letting off the stress and steam of Iraq duty. It is kind of a decompression thing. Nothing serious, just probably shooting the breeze and relaxing before going back to the war zone. God Bless.

So Jesse and Westy will be glad to know that the big black hog escaped death AGAIN today. He's got some toofas on him... got a good look at him again today. So scorecard is looking like:
Pig: 1 Hunters :0 Excuse : Ummm well... I'll let them tell it
Squirrel : 0 Hunters: Too many to count!

We had some foul weather here Sat, windy and raining Turkey Birds were not co-operating on the calls. Saw some nice toms however. Just couldn't quite get them to come in.

here are some of the new kids on the new archery only hunt I put together last week. Just getting to know everybody, excellent deer and turkey too...

SDHUNTR - I'm putting you with the bigger ones that are not nice. Dumb yes, but a whole lot meaner, nastier & generally uglier. Stinky too. You'll have to wave at these cute ones when we go by them.

Sorry for the long delay getting back. i get my pic transfered over later today but here the story.
First off DEEDY is Awsome, Great place to stay beautiful country all around good time. We did go on a little squeak hunt on saturday and the weather turned nasty so it put a bit of a damper on the sqeaks coming out and being targets but we managed to get about 2 dozen knocked down.
sunday morning we sat on water got out a little later than we would of liked due to the faithful alarm clock not going off and spending a little to much time catching up with old friends in pismo the night before, we didnt see any hogs that morning. we went back to a spot where DEEDY w told about how ther were a few old boars in the areas and some sows we sat for about 3 hours and just at sun down we decided to hike back to the truck, thoguht i would throw a few rabbit distress calls outs and see if we can get a quick yote to show himself, no luck but a 280 lb boar comes up over the next finger and its right as one of my buddies is standing to take a leak, so to cut it short, i miss judge the distance and oer shot by about 1-2 inches and then he was off to the races. while at the spot did see 3 toms 5 hens 3 bucks nubs and 2 does. went out again monday morning and saw some deer and a a few yotes but couldnt get a shot off. we are planning a annual trip back there and everyone should look to DEEDY when planning a guided hunt. Cant wait till next year to head back and hopefully ill hav a bow to hunt the new spread she just got, its off the hook if your a bow hunter

Thanks Lux, glad you all had a good time. Glad you made it home OK too. I had a really good time with you guys (what I saw of you...you had a social life that was a quite a few miles away so we missed a couple of mornings). But Im glad you had a blast. If you get a chance post a good word for us in Outfitter and Guide Reviews on this website OK? Thanks buddy. Be safe out there. And thank you for keeping us safe! Deedy
