Im going up to my mom and dads land. Should be some good sheds on the ground. Both elk and deer are all over the 27k acre valley. Just got to get out there and find them now.

Thumbs up on that!!!!! Good luck
Since moving to Oregon from North Dakota and Montana,I found out its harder to shed hunt out here and most people are closed mouth about finding sheds and where to find them-So I just quit for now....
I had a 30 year run on shed hunting and still have some laying around...Memories will always be there...

I just looked around a little. Didn't find any on Sunday. But I will be back up there soon. Not going to give up. My goal is still to find the big elk sheds. We have many of the same animals that can be found at Tejon. I want to use the sheds to decorate my man cave/game room. I built a red wood bar and converted my garage to a western cowboy saloon.

I am open to having others come to our land and look for sheds. I don't try to keep secrets. To hard to make friends if you never want to share.
Thank you for the replay
Take care

I don't shed hunt, but for you guys hunting sheds in the West, keep in mind that a lot of the deer and elk are migratory, so by the time the animals drop their antlers they may not be in the same places that you would go to find them during the hunting season.

Most whitetail deer live in a three mile area-we just look for their feeding and bedding area's in the spring months...Usually find a lot of sheds...
Mulie are a bit tougher, but not a loss.....Elk even get harder...I've only found one moose shed in the 30 years of shed hunting...

thank you for the info. Our land is part of a 27k acre valley. So needless to say there is a lot of land to cover. I am sure there is a lot of sheds to be found in different spots. Looks like I just need to get boots on the ground more often and find the sheds to bring home. Maybe there are some guys that want to hit the hills with me. Just let me know and we can plan a trip.

What's keeping you back from contacting me buddy. We still have a fishing trip together and a shed hunt would be cool too.

Good to know. I'm new to this also. Snow is on the ground. So I will be ready to go when it's time. Big elk rack is my goal, but I like to find anything.

Let me know when u want to put boots on the ground.

Sorry didn't see that question. Our property is up in bear valley springs. You can look it up and find out more. I was up there last night to have dinner with the Lt. Col, it was his birthday. Lots of nice bucks all over the place. Should be some good sheds this year. Won't be long before it starts to get cold in that valley.
