Looking for information on the Tinemaha Period 3. My buddy and I have drawn the 2 bull tags. Looking for any information that would be helpful in finding a starting point.

Sorry, no info for ya, Dan, but wanted to congratulate you on your draw!  Did you buy lottery tickets too?  :)

Also, welcome to Jesse's forum.  It's a great bunch, and I'd lay odds someone will have the information you're looking for.

Dan: Congradulations!!!  I hunted period 1 two years ago.  DFG has a required orientation on the friday night before opening weekend.  The game biologists will be there, and will tell you where the elk are hanging out.  They want 100% success because it is a hunt to control the elk numbers.  Only downside is that the elk will be more spookier since there's been 2 previous hunts.  There are big herds on both sides of 395.  They mostly hang out in the alfafa fields.  West side of 395 is not in the zone, so hope the east side herd dosen't cross.  One good thing about bulls.  The few biggest ones will herd up all the cows, so there will be some other bulls roaming around by themselves in case the main herd moves out.  There's 2 motels in town.  We stayed at the "Starlight", the Big Pine Motel is across the street.  Both are within 1/2 mile of the area you will be hunting. Don't know about the Big Pine motel.  The Owner/Mgr. of the Starlight is a hunter/fisherman, so he treated us very well. Anyway, this is getting long, so just let me know if you need any more info.
And, by the way welcome to Jesse's.  You came to the right place for good conversation and information.  Friendliest hunting bunch on the web.  Also, biggest Calif. group on the web.

Dan

If you don't have a freezer buy one now, if you can load your gun and hit a 55gal drum at 100 yards you will be eating elk.
