I really like the first one, the second seems to be missing something and I cant put my finger on it. Keep up the good work.

Thanks Hideandwatch, I really appreciate your honest opinion of the second picture, I wont learn if people are just trying to be kind.

Here is the shooting info for that pic:

Shutter Speed 1/160
Aperture 4.0
ISO Speed 200

I think if the shutter speed would have been a little faster, the image would have turned out a little nicer.

A couple more

And the reason it's called the "Salmon River." There are some big arse fish attached to those dorsal fins.

Obviously, the falls are as far as the fish go up-stream.

Thoes are some great pictures. I really like the first one. I know what you mean Hideandwatch. The first picture seems more eye catching than the second one

Thanks again Hideandwatch, and thank you Chukarlover.

A bad border can really ruin a picture, as with the blue border I used for the fish picture ( not that it was a good pic to begin with)... I need to stop doing it.

Hopefully I can keep myself from doing it again.... after this one of a pic I already posted

I worked on the image a little more, and I hope it looks a little better.

I like the first one the best. It has good colors and looks like a postcard!
The backlit shots are okay, but the high contrast between the bright sky and the shadows of the falls throws the scene out of balance IMO. But for a challenging exposure, you did pretty good with it.

Thanks Chris, the lighting bothered me a lot with these, it was early morning and I didn't have too much time to wait for better conditions... I'm going back next weekend a little later in the day and hopefully I will have learned from a few mistakes I made yesterday.
