Okay here goes, I'm wiring up a controller, I'm looking @ the wiring diagram and I'm making A$$umptions, if you know what I mean ;) Basically I'm smart enough to know which connection goes to the middle. I also know that the Collector is on the right and the emitter is on the left with the flat side of the transistor facing me. Now, I assume the collector should be on the positive side of the circuit and the emitter on the left. So have I got everything in the right direction or will I be re-wiring things?

Oakey dokey, maybe I've got that wrong too
anyway it's showing the diode side going to ground.

Thanks Drifter9 for the help, I'd found the Fairchild link too. My problem is, I don't really know what I'm doing with this stuff - I'm really just reading the "cookbook" and I'm not completely literate. Thanks for your help!

Learned something there. I get mine from radio shack and they are the opposite from the Fairchild. Thought with the same number they would all be the same.

2N3904 are NPN's (Not Pointing iN) and 2N3906 are PNP's.
