Is that at the San Luis Reservoir? I was just up there this past weekend. Rained the whole time I was there. I was over in Morgan Hill.

Actually, its the San Luis NWR off Hwy 165 just east of Los Banos.  There is a Elk herd in the San Luis Reservoir area just west of hwy 152.  Haveb't seen them in a while.  These Elk are in a pen.  I believe this is where the Tule Elk herd was saved and subsequently the source of the initial Elk planting throughout the state.

You probably passed through  Los Banos.  Thats where i currently hang my hat.  Drop me a line next time you pass through town.  I'd be glad to have some visitors and give you a respite from your journey.

Pretty bad that I have never atempted to go see the elk over there. I live in Turlock, and my mother-in-law lives just off of Henry Miller road in LB.
