The first boar was down in the muddy creek bed about 15' from me, so when I shot-the mud and creek banks silenced the shot. I was able to keep going and got this massive boar a few minutes later. The big boar came out of his "den" walked about 10 feet, then looked me in the eye, we were probably 20 feet from each other, his hesitation cost him. And yes, he dropped right were I shot him....both of them did. I like this type of hunting best, although 100 degrees and humid, humping it through "the jungle"..paradise..................
