It's been a little slow around here lately.

Let's change that. Two young boars from yesterday evening. A-bolt .300 win mag at 200 yds. with 180 gr. Barnes TSX handloads.

Two pigs, two seconds, two shots, two dead pigs.

I forgot to mention I had blank two tags I needed to fill before the end of the year.

It worked out pretty good.

Good job, Rancho! So, are you diggin' a pit for Christmas? Look like perfect sized hogs.

By the way, those tags are good until the end of June. Hope you plan to restock before May!

No pit for these boys...Mebbe the next one.

Why didn't I remember that about the tags?
I'm losing my mind, oh well..It doesn't seem to have hurt BirdDawg that much, so I guess I'll be O.K.

My buddies place, out above Salinas near Fremont peak.

We set up near a pasture and jump them when they come down out of the hills where they bed.

After five minutes, a neighbor comes down to say hello and chat. He mentions that he saw two under an oak tree in his pasture yesterday morning, took a shot but missed.
We chat a few minutes, look over and hey - they're back. The neighbor says make sure we get both of 'em.

These were the first I've taken with my Barnes TSX handloads.
.300 Win Mag
180 gr. tsx
77 grains of H-4831sc
MV 3120 fps

Very impressive performance.

The empty can of Bud in the bed is a nice touch. Those Barnes bullets really do the job don't they?

Hot dang Rancho! What's up with that? I thought you drank Sierra Nevada!!

Great job. Looks like it was a pig poppin' weekend for you too! I'll bet you didn't have to pay $400 to hunt that property.

Yup, if you look in the bottom left corner of that truck pic you can see the tip of my bottle of Sierra Nevada.

That can was my friend's 24 ounces of desperation while mucking stalls earlier in the day.

Yes sir. True to your brand. That is definitely the top of a Sierra Nevada. Classic. Glad you had fun and filled up the freezer. I just spent four hours running pork through the grinder. I soon realized why I have been paying a butcher to do that work.
