Two weeks out

I feel like a little kid a week or two before XMAS.
Two weeks and the adventure beginsHeaded into the bush this weekend to do some more recon- and hoping for a nice deer!
Couldn't have drawn a better elk tag- 12 miles from the house to the hunting grounds which takes ten minutes in the Polaris RZR.
Been using that to get back in there a good ways and basing a small camp from there- which is my plan for the actual hunt so long as the weather stays cool.
Pretty nice to get back to a semi-remote camp and have ice, beer...

Looking forward to my deer and elk hunts in Utah... Muzzleloader season starts the 23rd there... Good luck with your hunts!! My base camp is a camp trailer... otherwise I will be backpacking in!

Time to freshen up the gear and get ready for D-zones. I'm happy I don't have one of those X-zone tags this year, it's so nice to just focus on the backyard.

Well it has been a little over a week and the elk have just now started to wonder into my unit. Shot a small buck a week ago and have mostly been putting new fence up at the ranch while I waited for some activity.
Son and I are going to hit it hard this weekend- he still has a deer tag to fill and I am hoping to get into the elk.
