Unit 27 Arizona Hunt????????

Hey guys,

Have any of you hunted Unit 27 in Arizona recently? I am holding a tag in hand and a couple maps that with spots circled that I hunted about five years ago. I sure would appreciate any input you may have.

THat is a pretty sought after unit. I have spent time up there and there are some nice elk in the area. If you don't get the info you need send me a PM and i will try and help you. I have not specifically hunted elk there, but have seen plenty.

Archery or gun hunt in Unit 27

Hey Carpenter,

Are you in the archery Unit 27 hunt? I have the hunt also, though just a cow tag.... Ive hunted the unit tons in the last 7 years.... Would share info. with you..... Get back to me or post your contact info so I can get to you.... I live in Tucson.... and will be there for the entire hunt......


A great hunt if you have a bull tag you are going to be in for one terrific hunt......

All I know is you'll want to be in really good shape to hunt that unit. Great bulls but it's steep and deep. Proibably the gnarliest unit in the whole state. Congrats on the tag.

I was in Alpine just two weekends ago. I saw (4) 6X6's one evening grouped up, in velvet. Saw some cows a small bull the next day . These were all on the drive between Alpine and Springerville. Right near the highway. I had to stop for a closer look . All were within 6-7 miles of Alpine. I saw a couple of different public use areas in the area , but I dont know the area well at all. I was there for my daughter's wedding.

HI, Hoping that people will still see this and reply. My husband got drawn for a Bull elk, early archery tag for this year! After many years of trying to get this tag, his dream is a reality. Problem..... we no longer have the money/time off to go and scout this unit like we did 10 years ago. SO, does anyone want to help? Any great info? Thank you in advance!
