I've been reading a lot on what and how to train her and most people claim that eight months is about the right time to start formal training, well shes only fourteen weeks but she been fetching excellent so I figured I would go out and try hiding some and see what happened. Well I did and the first one she found she ran straight back to me all excited but didn't fetch it so I three it for her and she brought it back. Then all the other ones we hid she brought back instantly upon finding. I even had my wife hide some so I didnt know where they were at and the puppy found one before I even did and it got caught in a limb and she wouldn't come back until she had freed the antler and brought it back to me. I'm on cloud nine I can't believe how good she is doing with such little training and at her young age, anyways I'll keep you guys updated on what works and what hasn't worked, later, matt,

P.S. sorry about the whole book above I'm just jacked up

This is fun watching the progress. How about an older dog? I know the saying but is it possible?

I don't know why you couldn't. Especially an older dog with a good retrieving drive. I think once they figure out why your in the woods and they can make you happy just by bringing back a silly bone. I hope that my puppy is ready for this year but she will still be four months younger than most people suggest even starting.

GREAT MY DOG LOVES TO RETRIEVE. HE WOULD DO IT ALL DAY. MAYBE I CAN JUST THROW IN A BONE NOW AND THEN AND THROW IN REWARDS.
