The last homebrew i used a 7.6 mm ammo can. I mounted the camera on a short piece of 1/8" x 2" x 2" alumimum angle iron that i glued flush to the inside of the can. I drilled a small hole for using the cameras tripod mount thread on bottom (1/4" bolt) and bolt to hold the camera inside the can. Works really great but its a tight fit to get the hand in and tighten.

I'm getting ready to start #4 and was thinking about using the aluminum angle and tripod mount again but it would be a lot easier if the camera was mounted "upside" down? I was curious if anyone has experience with that and if it would matter. Seems to me like it wouldnt' but I'm not sure about the flash direction etc.
Thanks

The only thing I can think of is you won't be able to see the picture count. I have a small magnifying glass so I can see the pic count without opening the enclosure up.LOL
