Has anyone ever tried using any type of scents to attract pigs such as in heat scents. if so how well did it work and how long did you have the scent out before they came in. It seems like it would work to me but I wanted to know if anyone has had any experience.

Thanks

I've tried some of that 'In Heat' scent without any luck. You can't beat corn with a little Hog Wild mixed in and maybe some molassas dribbled around.

Whenever I relocate my feeder we make up a 'stink pot' to hang up nearby. Take and old plastic 5 gal bucket and cut some 1 inch holes around the top edge and maybe a couple in the lid. Put about 3-6 inches of conr in it, pour in a can of cheap beer, add about a cup of molassas then add enough water to just cover the corn (or more beer if you prefer) , put the lid back on and let it sit in the sun for a couple of days. Hang it up in a tree nearby, BUT .... I REPEAT ... BUT .... DO NOT SIT DOWN WIND OF IT !!! You'll find out real quick. The hogs will come running.

Another trick is to dig a hole as deep as you can with a post hole digger, pour in about 2" or corn, a little dirt, more corn, a little more dirt etc etc until the hole is filled and then pour molassas all over it. The pigs will come in and dig all the way to the bottom, then with them standing on their heads in the hole you can walk right up on them ;-)
