Just got back from Radio S. and now have everything but an Owl. I have a camera that I can make work by using a solenoid to fire the shutter but the instructs for using a solenoid are for the MS20 sensor. Would it be the same? Can you use a solenoid with the RS sensor? How? Also, should I use a timer with this set-up? HELP!!! Please!! I want some pics!  Z

Zeke,

if you are building your first cam I would suggest you go buy a owl that will work. If the date stamp is not that important on your first cam then just buy a cam without it.You can pick up a snappy lxII(make sure it has the big round switch) on EBAY for about 17$,brand new.(it is modified the same as owl with big round switch)

Adding the selenoid adds a whole bunch of aggrevation and uses a bunch more room.

straight out of the box the RS is the easiest PIR to modify so just use it and basic cam for first project.

Then when done it will be easy to see where you can make next cams a little better than first.(guarantee you can't stop at 1)
