Went to Alpha last night and they opened the hunting this a.m. Everything but C3 is open and they hope to have that one cleared by tomorrow night. I've got four 216's in my wallet right now! Yowzah!:smiley-mouse:

The 216's are the permits that allow you to hunt on the base. When its not deer season, they're good for 30 days.

They're only good for 15 days. I hear rumors that is going away, but I've heard that before.......

Didn't see a thing. Other than coyotes. We saw SEVEN of the little basXXXXs! It was very foggy and drizzle. Area 4 isn't open yet which is where I want to go.

Northstar? or someother secret squirrel place you've yet to share?? I know your not gonna go back to poison oak cliff, but if you haven't seen the landslide yet, its worth a peek over the edge. I think you'll agree it'll be an area to watch.

Please don't shoot wet sows: that's next year's hunting. There's so much pressure on this base that we'd have nothing to hunt if every sow we saw got killed. Besides; it's not much sport shooting a titty sow that has to eat at 3:00 in tha afternoon to keep her piglets in milk. And finally it's a myth that the piglets get adopted by other sows. They're coyote food.

I'm glad to hear it.

But I have to tell you that a 100-150 lb. boar is just fine. We really see no difference. It's all pork.

If we all pay attention to the range there will be great sport for everyone who uses the resource. Us locals can put more stress on it than out-of-towners so we really try to educate 'em about the base.
