Has anyone else been told that Vandenberg wants to change its hunting days to only Friday to Monday? I called on the phone the other day to find out what's going on and that is what they said was coming.

Somehow that don't seem right but I'm not surprised in this day and age. Always looking to cut something out of the budget. I thought that they made enough to pay for itself. Besides, most of the game wardens are active duty anyway and their salary is already paid.
My buddy called up days later and was told another story that it was only gonna be for deer season. Figures. Probably call again and get a third story. Their communication is a little confusing sometimes. The last time I went down during a missile launch and I could not find two people with the same story. We almost got run off the base for camping when it was not allowed. Long story.
Anyways, just hoping to find out what everyone else has been told or heard. We will be down through there after Labor Day weekend and I'll quiz them again.
Best of luck hunting, wherever you go.

I was told that the deer hunting is friday - monday for the time being because the game wardens are on temporary flight operations. They said to call prior to planning a hunt because it could change anytime. The pig hunting is open everyday, but...... right now there is some kind of exercises going on on the north end of the base (areas 2B, 3, and 4) and all activity is secured until further notice. It put a kink in my plans too. I was planning on a week hunt Sept 16-24. Doesn't look to promising though. The best thing is to call the DFG on base a few times prior to going.
