I am in the Marine Corps and will be stationed in Monterey this Summer. I am trying to find someone who needs help taking care of ground squirrels or other varmints. I currenly shoot a .17 Mach IV and should be of help out to around 300 yds. Any advise on who/where/how to get in the field would be great.

Thanks for any help.

Welcome to the forum USMCpanzer.

For ground squirrels near you there is a road that runs N/NW out of the north end of Fort Hunter Liggett  to Arroyo. I saw a ton of ground grizzlies there in April with plenty of rocks to lean on for a rest. There are plenty of yotes in that area too. You can hunt yotes on FHL but not ground squirrels. I saw one truck with 2 older gents having a ball plinking the squirrels while I was scouting for turkeys.

FHL is a S/SE of Monterey.

Hello and welcome to the form USMCPANZER you have come to the best web site for hunting and fishing info in California. It looks as if you’re your second mack4 shooter on the board. I’ve been thinking about one thanks too MarinePMI and his always talking about it.  WBH
