Thought some of you westerners might like to see a whitetail in velvet. I caught him by surprise last night while I was setting up some cameras. He's a good one, but not the one I was hoping to catch on film.
Yes that's milo, the deer love it at the stage it's at in this field. Right when it starts to get some color to it they'll bed right down in it during the day like this one did.
This is one of the better fields around. We are in a pretty bad drought, and a lot of milo and beans that farmers no-tilled into wheat stubble hasn't even out-grown the stubble and probly will be written off.
The one I'm waiting to see is a droptine buck I hope is still around.
