I havnt done any hunting since march and havnt had a weekend off since last august and really needed to get out and away for a day of hunting and my good friend JB229 and his dad invited me along to hunt some privite land vinyard for some pigs or blacktail bucks down in hollister for the day yesterday and that was a little adventure for sure.
First thing I spotted at sunrise was a huge coyote booking across this hillside uploadfromtaptalk1343055576420.jpg it was so big at first I thought it was a deer and pulled out the binos to see if it had a rack. The tail on that coyote looked almost two feet long.
Anyways I met up with JB229 & his dad and we headed up to the vinyard property uploadfromtaptalk1343055636955.jpg for a few hrs of hunting. It was really hot and dry for sure we did some hiking around the vinyard hillsides that were saturated and glowing like strawberry fields with poison oak looking for pigs, let me tell u we were cutting and walking through it for sure, I thought I would end up with poison oak on my body for sure , so far I am lucky I don't feel no itching, as soon as I got home and stripped down I hit the cold shower used a cortaid poison oak cloths and then scrubbed my whole body with the technu scrub. Just got to deal washing my hunting cloths now.
So it was gettin too hot to be moving and hiking the hills in the extreem heat so we sat under a nice shady tree on a vinyard hillside glassin for awhile and of course the flies where looking for shade too so I broke head net uploadfromtaptalk1343055687145.jpg to keep those suckers from bothering me.
Me Jason headed back up into hills to see if we could find and game animals bedded down because of the extreem heat but no luck at all. We saw Nothing moving around at all, at this time of year with this heat hunting hollister is no cake walk for sure. We decided to call it a day and go back another time under better conditions.
Jason I want to thank u and your dad for the invite my friend, it was just nice to be out in the great outdoors sharing our passion for hunting , its always great time when we get together.
Like Bill Jordan always says its all about bringing family & friends and the great outdoors together and enjoying life and that's what I did yesterday!...........tra uploadfromtaptalk1343055734978.jpg uploadfromtaptalk1343055790625.jpg uploadfromtaptalk1343055818649.jpg uploadfromtaptalk1343055889668.jpg uploadfromtaptalk1343055913360.jpg uploadfromtaptalk1343056119237.jpg also got so many stickers in my pants yesterday walking around, ouch.. uploadfromtaptalk1343056290888.jpg .....tra

I have another vineyard with deer and turkeys to hunt...and it's near PasoRobles, so we're not too far from pigs, either. It's very interesting, being asked to come back to hunt, since this vineyard is small, and they feel the damage from the deer and turkey populations. Going back soon!

TRA,
the best way I have found to get those stickers out is to brush then out. You will drive yourself crazy trying to pick each one off. I hate those little suckers, if you think your pants were back don't walk through the field in shorts, damn hairy legs..
