Headed up to a spot near Indian Valley res where I found serious hog sign last year. Ended up spending most of my time under the Jeep due to a ruptured fuel hose. Won't get into it, let's just say *Duct tape-1002 uses!*.

Anyways, the area has suffered greatly from the fire last year. The reservoir is very, very, very low. Didn't see much pig sign but didn't get out much either. Just tried to repair the truck and go back to Williams, which I did. One thing I will say........people need to learn how to pick up after themselves. If you are going to turn a beautiful, peaceful meadow into a target range, TAKE YOUR TARGETS AND SPENT CASINGS OUT WITH YOU!!!!!!!!!!:far-side-guy-yellin:rant-mode:

Anyways, didn't get to the spot where I saw hogs last year, but am planning on going back after a rain or two. With this burn the Walker Ridge area should be great deer hunting for a few years to come.....and no doubt very, very crowded.

Give 'Em Hell!!!!!

I haven't been up there since the burn. Lord knows we needed something to thin out all that brush. Maybe I'll head back up if we ever get some rain and take a look around.

I agree about the trash and casings and junk. It's disgraceful. It's my understanding that target shooting isn't even allowed up there. I guess they just don't have the resources to patrol.

Yes that is true trad......no taget shooting allowed on BLM lands. With the state budget crisis, who are they going to get to patrol those areas?? It's up to us as sportsmen to do our part. My girlfriend and I picked up what trash we could, but didn't seem to make a dent. 13 used and shot-up propane bottles!!!! Anyways, the area should produce alot of game over the next few seasons, if there is sufficient rain.
