Very nice bull ! Are you using a homebrew cam? I have mine up in the mountains, but have only captured some blacktail bucks so far. Going up tomorrow to change film and see what's new in the neighborhood.

Treekiller,

Yes, it is a homebrew (35mm Owl PF, 200 ASA at about ten feet off the trail). And as I recall, it is my HB-E1 or HB-E2 version camera...not my HB-A1 version.

I've been covering three trails in the area for about a month and half. This is the first time (during the month and half) that this Bull, and his 5x5 sidekick (or the other 5x5 with the belly wound), showed their faces.

I'm glad I caught him on film...the terrain is so heavily wooded it is nearly impossible to see an animal such as him, EVER, unless you get them within fourty yards or so (and we all know how difficult it is to get a clean archery shot through fourty yards of un-groomed timber).

Can anyone guess what my dreams have been filled with lately?

Jaber,

Thanks for the kudos! I have to admit, it is a LOT different knowing the beast is there (any Nugent fans out there?), versus following a bugle all morning and then have him come trotting down a trail.

BUT, now that I know he is there, I will be quite specific about what I shoot at (at least for the FIRST day of the season)

Thanks again,

Eric

Great, just what I needed. Now you've got me going crazy waiting for the next 6 weeks before my trip. I sure would like to see him out there in September.
