I have been looking all over the net the past few days and i have made up my mind that i am going to buy me an ar. The only problem is i have very little info about them. I was looking at the bushmaster A-3 patrolmans with the adjusutable stock and removable handel. Is there another brand that is better or are you just paying for brand names? A buddy of mine said the wilson combat ones are the best but i wanted some input from this great board before i bought one.

BTW i wont be doing any competition sooting so a 20" barrel is out. I would like it to have decent groups at 100 yds say 2" or smaller so i was looking at the 16" barrel

thanks

I have a Rock River Arms AR15. Great gun.

Stag makes a good one too. I would recommend either of them to my friends.

LMT is top notch (Lewis Machine & Tool), so is Colt. You are going to pay top dollar for one of those. Bushmaster is the toyota of the bunch... e.g., best value for the price. I've heard that Stag Arms is the budget supplier with supposedly poor quality control. Rock River is a very good choice. CMMG and DPMS are also popular.

You will find much more information at AR-15.com
