yes, weighing in at almost 3 pounds makes that lens quite heavy, but at least it shoots good! Are you using some kind of pod?

Chris, I read that using one wouldn't allow the IS to work properly, or you would get poor results if you do not turn it off. I don't know why that would be, or if there is any truth in it. The main reason I haven't used a pod is... I wanted to see what kind of results the IS would give me shooting hand held, I LOVE IT!
