Couple of suggestions...

Make this monthly, not weekly. Too hard to do it justice in a week, plus we'll have to determine four times less topics that way.

Since it's summer, how about reptiles. Think toward fall, maybe landscapes, then hunting pics, then winter scenes, then...HMMM....what does January bring??

I like Brother Wolf and Paso's ideas. How about this for now?...

Remainder of August ... reptiles
September ... children/babies
October ... Fall scenes
November ... hunting pictures
December ... ?
January ... Winter scenes

Et cetera. Other ideas?

I'll add my agreement here also. When I suggested this idea I was thinking more along those lines. I thought it might be kinda hard to come up with a weekly when we are more of a hunting sight.

I like everybodies ideas, except the one about childer/babies. It's just my personal opinion, but these days there are to many wackos out there looking for any opportunity to take advantage of kids. I never post or email any pictures of my children just based on the safety factor. Once again this is just my personal belief. If anyone wants to post their own family pics, that is their decision.

As far as another subject goes, how about ships/boats. Most poeple live somewhere near where you can find sailboats,yatchs,etc. Another though might be HotRods. I know that where I live there are 2 weekly HotRod nights.

Ive seen the subject of "advertising" before. So basically any photo that would be good as an advertisement for a product. That way it can be pretty open and one can post photos of their car, firearm, bottle of wine, just whatever, if it is a good photo, and it is of some product one can post it. Just a thought.

a couple more topics just hit me. One kind of goes along with the boat theme given above, but what about just "water". It could be rivers, streams, lakes, ocean, a glass of water, etc. Another topic could be pets.

I think Pasco is on to something. I really enjoy the challenges but one week doesn't seem like long enough to get a photo. We are all busy and I normally end up just putting it off and not taking a photo because time is running short. A month long challenge or at least a couple weeks might be nice. Just a thought.

I also really like Lan-lords idea of an advertising theme. I've seen this done before and it can turn out really neat. Take a favorite product or item and make an advertising photo of it. Pretty neat idea.

Either way, I've really enjoyed looking at all the photos and I think this has been a great idea.

I love the idea of once a month....What would be nice for me is if we had to get the pictures during the specified month.....I don't have a catalog of photos and with a point and shoot camera (which I hope to solve with an oly 730) it takes a lot of courage to place a photo in with all the wonderful pictures from everyone.

I think I will take a class on digital cams locally and improve the pics....I would also like to thank everyone for the ideas to improve the photos.

I love taking pictures of animals and now I take pics of everything.

I didn't say that initially, but I absolutely agree.

It's good to see someone's archives, but I prefer that the challenges are current pics only. Then again, if that's a rule I hold for myself, should all be held to do the same?

I totally agree too. What makes the whole challenge a little more fun is seeing what kind of photos a person can come up with on demand. Not just seeing a photo out of an albumn that happens to fit the current theme. Just my opinion.(you don't have to listen to my opinon.....no one else does.

)

Well, I don't have a digital to plug into the computer nor the technology to scan photographs on demand. All I can currently come up with are my archives, so I guess that would exclude me (and other people, I would suspect). But if that's what you want, so be it.

Canuck2....I think we just want a once a month photo challenge on the subject matter....Any photo will do as far as I am concerned. I just don't have many to choose from so I was rushed in a week.

Love your photo's and have been learning a lot from all of them....I used some that I took with a game camera and was just lucky to get them.

It's all for fun and teaching us beginners....show us your best--new or old
