Iam goin to collage out near stockton and i just got into duck hunting
and now iam hooked.
Problem being is iam stuck in the arm pit of california and every water way here seems to be the dumping ground for the community.

Ive driven around and there is many water ways but is there a marsh area around here that is somewhat good.
Ive been to white sloug area and no birds are there but everyones trash is.

I dont have to be in class somedays to late after noon so i was thinking of a early morning hunt.

ANY HELP WILL BE EPRICIATED.

. Am belive me I have the stupids to show for it. San Luis, Kesterson, Los Banos NWR's are about 1 hours drive from there. Thats where I did most of my hunting. Otherwise you can drive to Grizzlie Island to the east ( About 1-11/2 hour drive). Those are you closest bets. Sorry your in Stockton

There's lot of places in the delta but you need a boat and time to explore.

White Slough doesn't hold many birds since there's no marsh.

Download a copy of the Hunting on State & Federal Lands publication from the DFG website. It will provide you with tons of potential places.

There are many public hunting areas within 90 miles of Stockton. You can explore these on afternoons. A mountain bike will help out a lot at most places. Ceck the regs though since a few areas don't allow bikes.

I will keep everyone posted if i do any luck in this arm pit

There are several refuges in the grasslands that are near, 1-1 1/2 hours from you in Stockton. Don't forget about Yolo NWR near Davis. Good Luck!!!!!!

rroping: I'm at San Diego State right now but will probably be moving back to the bay area either next semester or the one after to go to DVC and then transfer somewhere. I usually hunt up near the Willows area but hunt Grizzly island sometimes, don't know much about the Stockton area really.
