West Central Region tops state in opening day turkey harvest

  The West Central Region was the top region in the state, after the first day of turkey season with 1,415 turkeys harvested.  The state total was 9,504.

  In the West Central Region, Laclede County led with 177, St. Clair had 171 & Henry County was third with 123 turkeys taken.

On the second day of the season, I heard more gobbles than ever before!  I believe I made the right decision moving to Henry County!  But, there are no guarantees.  So far:  Turkeys 2 ~ Chairman 0

A couple of friends took 2 birds off of my place in Franklin Co. but I was down at Table Rock Lake doing some bass fishing and didn't get out over the weekend. They had 4 gobblers come in and even the guy doing the calling managed to get his bird too.
