Was out this past weekend scouting for the Sept 14 opener and saw plenty of bulls. We saw a total of 12 bulls and 5 were shooters. The biggest ones we saw were 2 6x6 bulls that really stood out from the others. They were bugling like crazy it was cool to hear them. I'll post some pics later. Hunt safe and God bless.

Thanks for the info Omar. My scouting trip is scheduled for next week. 2 big bulls? One for each of us!

Just pray a open zone and auction tag holders don't come in and cream the place.

According to the regulations the fundraising tag and the Owens Valley archey tag are not valid in West Tinemaha.

For this hunt and the Owens Valley tag, are most of the elk on private land or are hunters successful on the BLM and other public areas out there?

You might want to look west of there. Along the main slope of the sierra, if its still your unit. The bulls shown in your pics probably are not the biggest up there (not to rain on your party). They are making their way higher every year. look to the upper parts of the large wet meadows. Hope to find a 7+ pointer. (I had the tag in 2009) Most awesome experience!!
