Three mistaken for squirrels shot in Wayne

Officials are investigating an incident in Wayne County in which James D. Keene, 63, of Pleasant Valley, allegedly shot three men he thought were squirrels, conservation officers said.

Keene was squirrel hunting in when he shot Jason Lloyd, 20, and Sean Keen, both of Fort Gay, and Bo-Jaye Penham, 19, of Bunbury, Australia.

Lloyd was shot with several shotgun pellets in his side and is in fair condition. Keen was shot in his chest and is in critical condition.

Penham received minor wounds to his neck and arm, officials said.

The case is still under investigation.

I have never been anywhere where squirrel season opener was also family reunion time.  Those WV types are kinda funny.  To bad that shooting crap happens, bad for all.
