A painted mural on the outside wall of a local Art Center. Made with the Olympus E-10. Tripod used. Processed with Photoshop Elements to boost the colors some.

Also - Here is a link to the Autobiography of Geronimo. Some may find it interesting. I read the part about his visit to the St. Louis World Fair. Entertaining.

Cool. I like the cactus out in front of the mural; it makes it look more 3-D. That came out pretty well. Was is sunny or overcast?

Thanks Annie - I think your right about the cactus, and it was the hardest part to get right. The late afternoon sun was going in and out behind high clouds. The direct light was blowing out the highlights on the cactus. I put the camera on a tripod, framed the shot, set the aperture to F8 to get the cactus in good focus. Made the exposure with a remote release when the sun went behind a cloud for a few moments. The light was filtered and better then. Regards, Henry

WB, that is one cool photo. Like Annie said, the catus is what makes it really awesome. The E-10 is a great camera isn't it? Beautiful colors.

TC - Thanks for the look. Yes, the E-10 is a great camera. A little big to take hunting, unless hunting with the camera only is on your mind. I will use it in combination with the C-730 which has awesome zoom and is much smaller and lighter than the E-10. Between the 2 cameras I should be able to cover a lot of interests. I just ordered a case that is a Day Pack design and will easily hold both cameras plus extra lenses and stuff. Both handle great off a light tripod and monopod. Regards, Henry

WB, I think you will love having your E-10 in a backpack type case. After I bought my E-10 I bought a Lowepro Micro Trekker backpack and it is awesome. I have plenty of room for my E-10, with or without the Lipo grip/battery, filters, spare AA's, memory cards, cleaners, and another camera. I even have enough room to carry my C-2100 if I want. It also has straps to attach a tripod. I just got back from a vacation in the Southern Rockies and that backpack was awesome, it paid for itself 100 times.

You are right, the E-10 is just too big to carry along in your pack on a hunting trip. That is one downfall but hey that's the price you pay for having a great SLR. You mentioned the C-730.....I'd like to talk to you more about it. Like I said, I have the C-2100 and like it but the 2.1mp is not adequate in my opinion and because of that, I rarely use it anymore. I've considered selling it and getting the C-730 but I have a few questions. I might drop you a line sometime.

Bucksnort, I will do it. The 2.1 mp is just the killer to me. However, I know that the camera has a HUGE following. Over at dpreview.com in the Olympus forum those people go nuts over that camera. I've seen people get in bidding wars on ebay and pay crazy prices for them. The image stabilized 10x zoom is what keeps me hanging on to it. If I get rid of it, I'll probably want to get rid of the Lowepro bag and all the filters I have for it too. Anyway, I'll let you know, if I decide to sell it soon. Thanks

TC - Great Minds think alike! First we each bought the E-10, then the Micro Trekkers. Wow.

My local Frys store has the pack/case and I took the E-10 there to check the fit before I bought it on line at Adorama for much less. Glad to hear it works well for you. I should be able to pack everything I need for an all day hike and photo shoot. The C-730 is great, but you might want to hold out for a C-750 for awhile, as the prices for it and xD cards are already dropping. (hanging on to the UZi in the meantime, of course.) Shoot me a PM if you have any specific questions about the 730. BTW, how do you like the battery grip for the E-10? Henry

Thanks Txcowboy,

I have the 2100 myself and it could use some more megapixels, but that image stabilization is pretty nice. I can't believe the newer Oly UZ's dont have it.

BuckSnort, yes the IS lens is a nice feature but the cost is just too much for Olympus to include it on the current crop of cameras. When the 2100 came out, the retail price was over $1,000. It didn't sell wel (for obvious reasons) and as the price dropped it was discontinued. When the price got lower people started buying them and at the time 2.1mp was still pretty much standard, so the camera was a good deal. However, in the eyes of Olympus the camera was a failure because they couldn't get the price they needed to make the IS an affordable option. That is the way that I understand it all.lol

Glad you like your 2100. The camera produces great photos, many of which need very little editing. That is a big plus for sure.
