I found a new Sako 75 Hunter in a .222 that's on sale for $800.  I'm not familiar with rifle prices as this will be my first.  Is this a decent gun and price?  Thanks for the help!

Whenever I want to see how a gun's prices really are on the open market I go get a copy of Gun List.  It's a newspaper type publication that comes out something like 16 times a year.  In there you can easily find particular firearms and see what their real world price is.  Sorry I'm no help on your Sako but Gun List may be a direction for you to go if no one else is able to help you on that price.

IMHO, you can't go wrong with a .222. They shoot great, an inherently accurate cartridge.

I'm not familiar with the newer Sako's, but last years blue book listed them as follows:

Sugg. retail-$1184
100% (NIB)-$995
98% (Very little wear)-$800

Hope this helps.
