I HAVE SEVERAL THAT I CARRY. I use a 870 SP w/3" chamber. I got it when they 1st came out. It is MossyOak green leaf w/ 2 power scope. I use a Benelli Nova camo in 3.5" with true glow sites and I use a Knight TK 2000 in line Smoke Pole w/tasco red dot. I occasionally carry a Remington O/U Peerless. I almost always shoot #6's for turks in the 3" or 3.5" variety. All guns are in 12 gauge. TommyCaller
have several good shooters, but my old reliable is my 26" remington 870 super mag.it came from the factory with mossy oak breakup, sling swivels, and dual beads ( white trap bead on front w/ small steel mid bead.) i use a remington super full turkey choke and my favorite load is winchester # 6 3.5" 2 oz. of lead supreme. the gun will also handle 4's and 5"s--i just personally have had good success with the 6's. the gun shoots 3" shells just about as good. this is a solid 40 yard turkey gun every shot every time. my only complaint is that it kicks like a #@$%@ from &%$! with 3.5" shells.
I got a good ol' Mossy. Mossberg 500B Synthetic Woodland camo. Shot size: Winchester's new 6x4 (2 3/4" for 3" I use 5 shot. Mossies are GREAT guns. I am stickin with it. Choke tube: Extra Full choke. Scope: 4x32 Tasco Pronghorn. My opinion is that Federal Shotgun shells suck! I had a misfire the 2nd time I shot my new shotgun a while back. I checked the firing pin and it nearly made me finger bleed.
I shoot a Beretta 390 with a 28 inch barrel and a Kicks choke.
The shells I use are the 3 inch 2 1/4 oz.of nickel coated 4x5x7 1/2 shot coated with moly put out by Nitro Company Ammunition. This has worked great for me.If a turkey gets within 50 yards he is DEAD!!!!!!!
My turkey taker is a Mossberg 835 with a Bushnell Holosight scope and a Rhino Grand Slam choke. I shoot Nitro Ammo's 4x5x7 Hevi-Shot loads. For me, this combination is deadly. I dropped an Osceola this past March at 53 steps, "stone dead".
my grand dad's old stevens model 860 pump 12 gauge. i'm guessing made in the 40's or 50's. barrel will not come off for cleaning but i had it choked for colonial chokes. will probably redo the stock and forestock with tru-oil. still looking for the right 2.75" shell to shoot -- it shoots high and to the left. would like an overbored mossberg 835 or camoed 870 but am saving for a handgun at this time. it brought home the dinner saturday morning during fall turkey season -- a lucky left handed shot, but i'll take it.
Winchester 1300 user here. It's scoped and the barrel had some work done to it besides shooting a Tru-Glo choke out of her. She loves those Winchester 3" HV 1 3/4oz of #5's best besides that new Remington hevishot stuff!!
