browning b.a.r.in 270 wsm 130g ttsx
the last big boar took one in the front shoulder with no damage...
I retrieved both slugs from the thick armour skin..and found a third lead slug healed over...
these bullets pass right through 3/8 steel gongs but not giant boars...
My primary weapon is an Excalibur crossbow. If they won't come in range I pull out my Browning X bolt Stainless Stalker in 300 WSM shooting 180 grain Triple shocks
second slug passed through vitals then lodged in armour plating on the opposite side...
the skin was over 2" thick.....had to finish him off with a poke to the heart with my knife...
this hog quit running and stood his ground....he was 5+ year old loner....
I also recovered 2 chunks of lead from his back...
Browning x bolt 270win 130gr Barnes ttsx, 50 cal muzzleloader Barnes, Savage 220 20 gauge Federal Barnes sabot slug and AR308 150gr Barnes ttsx. Those are what I usually use but have only connected with the 270win.
7mm Mag Winchester M70 with RELOADS E TIP Nosler 150 grain .... Honestly I can't ask for a better gun for any game in California... There has been times I've shot pigs at over 500 yards.... such as this one at Camp Roberts...
No pig has survived after i put a bullet in em.. I know a lot of you might disagree and say 7mm is too light of a bullet just like my friend says that shoots a 338 or 300 Ultra Mag... But I tell him you shoot somewhere at a pig at any amount of yards you desire and I will do the same with my 7Mag...
