Lost my best friend/hunting buddy/family member 2 months ago while quail hunting. He got out of range of the e-collar and could not see me due to the high brush. He found his way to the road.. Worst day of my life, i loved my boy, he slept on my since the first day i got him. Having went through that I no longer had the same passion to hunt, I thought about selling my firearms as well. I did not want another pup at first but not having one is killing me. I come home and look in the backyard and one is there and reminded of that dreadful day. When is the time right for another pup? 20210521_055134.jpg

Puppies like girlfreinds need to be immediatly replaced. Nothing will ever replace your boy, but a puppy will make you laugh, cry and bring his own joy into your hart. I have allways felt that waiting to long is like punishing yourself for things that were beyond your control. My .02 anyway

When I lost Sadie, Best hunting dog and companion I ever had! I cant tell you how many miles this dog and I traveled in 14 years. My wife thought it was a good Idea to get a new pup right away I wasn't ready.
We got a lab puppy and I love the dog but never hunted her. That was 12 years ago. A good hunting dog is hard to replace.

A new puppy will help you heal. He wont replace your old friend but he will help heal you and bring joy back into your life

Well Scout, I am not a dog person, so I wouldn't want another dog. But It sounds like to me It Is past time for you to get another dog. Rent Old Yeller, listen to Fess Parker at the end of the movie.

Life is good.

I lost a friend of mine, Sass, a lab, and went 35 years before I let myself enjoy the company of that type of a relationship again. In thinking, I went over 34 years to long. Unless there is a good reason to wait...don't. You will only be shorting yourself of that special feeling of a bond between a person and their dog/partner. Take the plunge.
