When is the rut?

I was curious as to what the schedule of the rut in southcentral oregon, like the days of pre-rut, the rut and the post rut. I have no idea any help would be appreciated. Thanks.

Not sure about down there but the rut up here is around Sept 1-20th. give or take a few days

you should ask your local authority , no better elk hunting than in the rut!!

I was in Idaho Sept 17 to 24th and the bulls were screaming thier heads off. I saw quite a bit of action. Bulls with cows, bulls trying to steal cows and one fight but it didn't last long. I was told as a rule of thumb the rut is usally around Sept 19 or so.

I am no authority though.
