Hello fellow hunters. I got tiered of doing research and desided to ask you guys. I am still new to hunting in California, and I would like to know where I can hunt pigs with a bow. I live in Burbank Ca. I am looking for public land with some chance of succes near by. When I say near by I mean about 3 hrs at the most. Can you please help.

Hey frehole,
Welcome to JHO. I don't know how far you are from Paso Robles, but there's a few places you can check out up hwy 101. First is Camp Roberts, if you do a search here you'll find all kinds of info on it, they have primitive weapons areas and the other areas are open to any weapons I believe, but it's only open on certain days. I think the next hunts are scheduled for October 25th-26th, with several during the month of December counting our JHO outing which I believe is Dec. 13th. Second would be Big Sandy wildlife area, it's a shotgun and archery only area. Again, do a search on this area and you'll find something out. The pigs at Big Sandy are just passing through, sometimes you catch them and sometimes you don't. Boartracks is a great source of information, he's helped a lot of members out with simular questions. So keep checking this thread and i'm sure you'll find what your looking for.
