Where do you plan to elk hunt in 2006?

I'm hoping to draw Wyo or NM. If I don't draw one of those two I'm planning to go to CO on an OTC tag or maybe NM on a landowner authorization again if I can find a good deal. Otherwise, elk points in NV, CA, CO, Wyo and OR.

Next year I'll have enough points to do a rifle elk hunt I'd like in OR...either that or hold out for another hunt....gotta make up my mind on that one.

I am sure to be 1 of the twenty-thousand applying for the 17 available CA bull tags in the area.

After the shock of not getting chose, I will try for a CO cow tag.

I applied for Montana again this year. If I get a tag, I'll be in the northwest corner of the state. This year, if I get drawn, we'll spend some time living out of a walltent up in the mountains on horseback. The rest of the time I'll stay at my friend's house and make day-trips out and about. Pardon me if I drool just thinking about it.

Points for me in CO this year, and of course my annual donation to the CA Tule Elk drawing. In the highly unlikely chance I get to hunt CA elk, that'll be August or September.

My October this year is going to be spent diving the bommies and coral off the Great Barrier Reef! I can stand to skip an elk hunt for that.
