Where Souther Cali can i hunt some Wild boars?

Im a noobie so i have a lot of questions to get me started, well first of all I have a M77 Hawkeye all weather .03-06 and would like to know what kind of bullets to use or can i use full metal jackets and what type of can i use for target shooting? 2nd where would be a good place to Hunt them wild pigs at, I'll be coming from Los Angeles area? I am in great physical shape so under sun or hiking, i can handle. please give me your good advise, oh one more thing i trying understand the Hunting lingual.

Have you taken a CA hunter safety course and do you have a hunting license? If not, start there.

Go on the fish and wildlife website and look up the pig hunting guide.

as far as ammo there are quite a few areas in CA that are non lead areas to protect the Condor. Best advise is just go by a couple of boxes of Barnes TTX bullets. something in the 140 -180 grain range. Warning its not cheap,
second find a range, I hunt Tejon and havent been to a range in years so maybe someone at the gun store can tell you where to go? or on here?

Sight your rifle in at about 3 inches high at 100 yards.
this will put you dead on at 200 and a few inches low at 300.
dont take a long shot unless you feel confident. you do not want to have to track a wounded pig. humane kills are much better.

next either pick a place in National forest or somewhere like fort hunter ligget and plan on not seeing anything at all...

if you want to save time, money, and gain experience look up a good guide. there are a ton of options and most pigs are on private land, or... sign up for a management hunt at Tejon
not sure when the next one is but go to their website. awesome place to hunt and cheaper than a guided hunt. you will definitely see pigs and if you put in the time its pretty hard not to get an opportunity at one.
