Well I just found out, it's up in the Bay Area where the California Waterfowl Association Banded my first Mallard.

The bird was 5 plus years old and was banded in August 1998.  It was shot almost 300 miles from where it was banded, probably a home grown Mallard.  The size of the bird had me thinking it was a youngster but I was wrong.

Keep up the good work CWA!

Sounds like he was banded over in the evaporation ponds near the refineries.  Benicia is a smelly town, but located in good duck country.  Lots of delta marsh.  Real close to me, but I have to cross the bridge and hunt Grizzly Island across the way.

Hey Kid

I did not know that bird had a CWA band I thought it was USFWS, I called in the band on the speck it was USFWS, said I would get a letter in a few weeks telling me where who and age.
