Hello everyone! I'm in search of some information on hog hunting in Central/Northern CA. I'm new to hog hunting (and somewhat new to California) and had previously taken advantage of the Lake Sonoma Shotgun hunt but it looks like my luck has run out as they are not allowing shotguns in 2010 and I have never hunted with a bow. So I'm now on a quest to find a good location hopefully not too far from the Sacramento area. Any suggestions?

I appreciate the help!

Pick up the DFG wild pig hunting booklet, it lists all state public lands and game statistics. Look up at the top of the hog hunting forum page, where jesse has pinned lots of links to info you seek...

In 2003 a pig was killed in el dorado hills. most pigs are not on public land, the ones that are you will have to find on your own because there will be no one to give out their information. DFG web site has areas that pigs are taken from (by county) then find public land in that county and start walkin...that is your best chances of getting a pig.... with a 1% success rate on public land, don't expect too much
