Which Bino's ???

I've narrowed my decision to three Bino's

Pentax DCF HR II 10X42

Bushnell Legend 10X42

Nikon Monarch 10X42

All run about $300 so from experience (good/bad) which do you fell are the best buy ?

Get the Bushnell Legends (roofs). I have a pair of 8x42 roofs with the PC-3 phase coating + "Rainguard" which works great, also Bak-4 prisms. I like the "feel" of them too.

My buddy had a pair of Pentax's DCF WP ( a step above the HR's), and mine are just as nice. Another friend has a pair of 8x40 nikon monarchs and don't even come close to the Legends. Although Nikon's recently upgraded the Monarchs, but I yet to look through them.

Legends are clear and bright, you won't be disappointed. They also come with a nice neck strap unlike other binos I've bought.

I don't have any experience with the others, but I recently purchased the Monarchs, and I absolutely love them.

I've only looked thru the Nikon's and Pentax's. I prefer the Nikons.
