OK guys. Got an Olympus Stylus 400 camera that came with Camedia software. It's OK I guess but I'd really like to get a good complete software package that's not too hard to learn yet offers good options like resizing (for posting on JHO), automatic color enhancement/repair, etc. I'm not INTO digital photography at this time (too many other irons in the fire) but want the ability to work with my photos, both pleasure and work photos.

I hear a lot about PhotoShop but the price is too much for what I want. What about PhotoShop Elements? I've heard some good things about it and the price at Sam's is within my budget ($55.00 at Sam's Wholesale Club)

Any other suggestions? I really need to get something going. We have a homeshow coming up in March and I want to be able to present lots of photos of our countertops. (granite)

Photoshop Elements 2 is my suggestion. It's now being bundled with Photoshop Album. Costco has the package for about $69. They interact, so storing and playing the photos is easy. I took a couple of classes on PSE2 that got me kick started. For your upcoming trade show you could have slide shows playing with sound added if you want. Good luck and Happy New Year. WB

We use Paintshop Pro 7 & it works really well, you can resize, flip, rotate, color enhancements, red eye, the works. I have no clue as to where to get it since a friend from back east sent it to us. Hope this helps

First of all, congrats on the new cam. Sometime post some pics and let us know how you like it.

Based on my experience, Photoshop Elements has my vote. It is a powerful tool, with features and abilities that you will probably never grow out of. The price is not bad either (compared to the other photoshop products). I have heard good things from Paintshop as well, but have not had any personal warm fuzzies with it to comment on.

Bought PhotoShop Elements 2.0 this afternoon. Now I've gotta take time and play around with it.

Thanks for the recommendations, fellas.
