I just got back from a 2 week swing up north, hunted LDC, Gray Lodge, Modoc, Honey Lake, and have not seen this many pins in years, a friend has been hunting the Salton Sea and said it is loaded with pins also.

I don't know who counted them this year but a increase in drakes should have come about at least in the pacific flyway.

I have also noticed an increase in Pintails the last 3 seasons. But we need to remember that most of them do come to the Sac Valley to winter, so the numbers are going to look good to us. I hope that they are making a big comeback, they sure are tasty.

75% of the sprig in the pacific flyway stay here in the winter that is why you see so many and many of them nest in Alaska and Russia and don't get counted!!
