Who makes good hog sausage?

Well now i have some meat to deal with. I will usally keep a back strap and give the rest to my co-workers, they love it. this time i was thinking of keeping 1/2 of it and having some sausage made.

Does anybody know of a processor within reasonable driving distance from Coalinga who makes some killer sausage?

well its not the closest but corralitos makes the best susage by far. Its by watsonville. Apple is my favorite sausage they make with my hog meat. They will smoke the hams as well. A+.

I will have to agree with you on Corralitos meat market. I used to live in Watsonville and sure do miss that place. There is also Freedom meat lockers. I have used a couple other places in Northen CA, but they are probably too far for WTPOPS to travel.

pops if your in coalinga, you are about 1hour and change from ralphs in paso robles..
damn good sausage and plenty of recipes to choose from.. i'll sausage the boars i keep for myself, and steak and strap the young ladies...:smiley_yahoo:

Sanders in Turlock does some pretty good work, and theres also another place in Los Banos...but I dont remember the name.

hey guys im from watsonville...born and raised...corriltos is good...but freedom meat lockers is hands down is the best meat ever, and if you have ever had their skirt steak you would make the drive....my family still lives there and i get some meat from there everytime im up there.

WTPOPS, I live in Coalinga as well and take all my meat to Lemoore food locker for 20 years. They make some good sausage and if you go buy some of the hot linguisa, its the best around. I cant buy store bought stuff any more. CAGWP

Too bad you don't live in the bay area, I'd do it for you. I give an extra good deal to JHO members. But it sounds like you have some good places to go. Bay area hunters, when it's time to process your hogs, remember ole' bux-n-dux.

I have been using Los gatos meats and smoke house for over 18 years and recently tried corralitos from that last pig I harvested in jan. And I'm not that happy about. The cost was way better but I like Los gatos better.
