I didn't take any deer during the firearms season so I have all of my tags left. I was a bit selective and had the muzzleloader season in the back of my head.

I have to work the opening weekend but am planning on hunting the first Monday and Tuesday.

I thought that I would use my muzzleloader during the firearms season but I carried my 30-30 instead.

This will be my first time and I am looking forward to it

How about it, anyone else going?

OH YEAH. Gun season was crazy for me with tresspassers and people walking around looking for deer. I only saw one deer, a buck (Peter) that I let walk during bow, and I let him walk again, with much hassling from some "friends". Next year he will be what I am looking for!!! I last saw him on the second saturday of gun season, so maybe he made it thru today!

I am taking a day off for ML, and hunting that opening weekend. I hope for better results than gun season (big goose egg for me too). I would be real happy with a doe honestly.

I still haven't decided if I am gonna take this T-day weekend off from bow hunting, go duck/goose hunting or squirrels or what. I am thinking of taking the 3 month old lab out and letter her run around the pond for a little bit (will make sure she stays warm) and hope for some birds to come in.

Sounds like a plan hucklburry.

I'll take a doe too, unless I take a doe with the bow before hand, then I have big buck on the bran again. Lately I've been confusing myself on what I am hunting for

The 3 month old lab idea sounds like fun too. I had to put down my 13 year old yellow lab just before Christmas last year. I still think about him all the time. Soon, I will be lookng for a new buddy as my other 14 year old lab mix is having his troubles of late.

Good luck with the smoke pole!

I've been invited to hunt the ML season with a friend that lives just North of Springfield. A change of scenery would be nice. I still haven't decided if I'm going, though. I'm exhausted from the firearm season....

Chairman, I saw an albino or at least all white deer of the hwy (65??) about 40 miles north of Springfield back in the spring. Mama doe and sibling were both normal, the other white.

Wonder if you would be close?
