Ive had a couple rare times out by cabazon near the morongo rez where i got a valley and gambels quail. I wanted to drive up to Lake arrowhead for a try at a mtn quail for the trifecta. I know a couple guys who have done it but not me.

Anybody do it?

And that area is pretty much a no go now, the Morongo tribe has all that BLM land now and you cant access the NF to the north anymore. What a shame.

I have done it with Ducks, Doves, and Quail a few times, never with just Quail, that would be a challenge. Has anyone done it? The Reservation is now a gated community!

In CA: shot a quail, chukar and dove in one day (late season)
In AZ: shot the quail slam in one day. Mearns, Scaled and Gambels.

Maybe one day the CA trifecta will happen.

The other trifecta is chukar, mtn quail and valley quail.
Very doable in Kern County.
Also..on the way back home down the 395 could get a gambels.

This Saturday Ill be heading out to try for some sort of trifecta ha ha. I have a place for jack rabbit, and am hoping to get quail in the same spot. Ive seen a couple doves and chipmunks in the same area so fingers crossed.

Hey buddy all these years of hunting I have never seen any chukars in Kern county. I've hunted the d8 and d9 and have only seen turkeys, quails and doves along with big game. One day I'll sure run Into them
