Wife Brings Home the Bacon

Wife shot this pig Saturday evening just before the end of shooting light. About 20 minutes before the end of shooting time I spotted a group of pigs coming across a hillside headed from their bedding area. We quickly closed the distance and wife made an off hand shot at about 90 yards as the pigs were moving through the oak trees. After the first shot she quickly loaded another round and sent a second one through him with her 30-06 dropping him in this tracks. I got a rope tied to him and she headed towards the truck dragging the 90 lb pig behind her. It was a great day spent in the filed with the wife. WU is holding special pig hunts for women only on this ranch for the month of October. It is called "Wine and Swine". It is open to members and non members. They will send you out with a mentor in the morning to some areas that we often see pigs and then around noon cook you up a great BBQ lunch and feed you some wine from the vineyards that are on the property.
